J.Crew stretch wool élan trouser

Fashion - Women > Pants

J.Crew stretch elan wool trouser

I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's the greatest feeling when you find a pair of pants that actually fits, and you buy them in every color, because you don't know when you'll come across the same fit again.

It happens to me quite frequently when I shop J.Crew. Seriously, each pair of pants I've purchased fits precisely how I want it to.

Take J.Crew's stretch wool élan trouser, for example. You'd think at first look that pleats would be a. unflattering, b. unflattering, and c. ill-fitting, but really, these trousers are the exact opposite. They've got an easy-chic fit, that's fitted at the hip, more full through the thigh, and both cropped and skinny-esque at the bottom. The hems are cuffed.

These stretchy wool pants feature slant pockets on the front - almost hidden, completely flattering - and welt pockets in the back. They're completely comfy, which is great for both office dress and after-work play. Worn with a loose silk tank, boyfriend blazer, and some sky high-heels, and you've got a look that you can wear anywhere.

J.Crew Pixie Pants

J.Crew Pixie Pants

If you're anything like me, there are times when you're shopping and you find that perfect dress-pants-shirt-skirt-sweater, and think "This is it." Right? Right.

And when that happens, I really, strongly, and seriously urge you to buy at least two of whatever that item may be. Not that I'm suggesting you should become a total dress-pants-shirt-skirt-sweater horse, but I kind of am.

Take these J.Crew pixie pants for example. They fit like a glove, come in black and navigator blue (which is more teal than blue), and they feature a super-soft STRETCH blend of nylon/vicose. (READ: Wear after wear, you'll never have to worry about those annoying fuzzy nubs.)

Also, they feature fantastic details: Check the jodhpur yoke detail on the inside knee, the exposed back zip, and the comfy waistband. On top of that, J.Crew's pixie pants have a 30-inch inseam, so they're cropped Audrey-style, and who doesn't love that?

RACHEL Rachel Roy Jumpsuit

RACHEL Rachel Roy

I'm not so much a fan of the jumpsuit, but admittedly, this RACHEL Rachel Roy jumpsuit is chic. Seriously.

Look at this way - a jumpsuit is much like a dress: It's easy to put on, makes early mornings effortless because you don't have to coordinate pants-skirt-shirt-jacket, AND it's comfortable. It's office-friendly, and you could easily take it from day to night. What more could a girl ask for?

Like my man Marc Jacobs, Rachel Roy understands a woman's body (and hello?! Girl is gorgeous). She totally gets how comfort and class in clothing go hand in hand. Double R's line for Macy's is easy chic, covering everything from feminine dresses and easy tees to grommet-heavy studded bags and pleather booties.

Besides the clothing - duh - the best part of the RACHEL Rachel Roy line for Macy's is the price. You could buy two or three pieces, easy, and still have cash to spare.

Proenza Schouler Wideleg Menswear Pant

Proenza Schouler Menswear Pant

Menswear is really hard to wear correctly, especially if you’re a woman.

Basic logic, right?

You’d be surprised how many women I see who think themselves super-stylish, wandering around in too-baggy, menswear-inspired trousers. Seriously, runway to real life is an art.

Enter Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. The boys behind Proenza Schouler know how to tailor menswear to a woman’s body.

That’s why I love these Proenza Schouler trousers. Check out how they’re fitted in the waist, flat in the front (even though they’re pleated), and tucked in the back (to accentuate curves).

J.Crew White Matchstick Jeans

J.Crew white matchstick jeans

Many style statements from the 1980s have made comebacks in recent years — oversized clutches, wasp waists, –

White denim.

Made classic by J.Crew, I’m loving these white denim matchstick jeans. With a leg that’s not straight but not skinny, a comfortable rise, and perhaps the most figure-flattering back pockets EVER – these jeans have a super-stylish silhouette.

White denim is a refreshing alternative to dark denim, though the latter is also classic. For spring and summer, women of all skin-tones will glow wearing white denim. Because the denim is so light, it makes your skin look more tanned — even if you’re naturally of the alabaster variety, like me.

I’d pair these fabulous J.Crew matchstick jeans with a bright colour on top — pink, emerald green, or yellow, — and some subtle accoutrements.
