Really, it should come as no surprise that I'm wishing for this J.Crew Collection midnight iced houndstooth coat.

It's a chic car coat dressed up with some midnight cellophane for a super-sleek glazed appearance. I love tweed of all kinds, and woven together in a gorgeous houndstooth print, this coat is no exception. It's designed double-breasted, with vertical welt pockets, sweet bauble buttons (that are anchored in back), and bracelet sleeves.

The box shape is classic, and the color is deepest navy. I'd wear with just about everything... from jeans to dresses.

Can we just talk for a second about Stella M's gorgeous grey wool sweater coat? Good things come in threes, right?

3 big, over-size black resin buttons, cut three ways for extra emphasis; 3-quarter sleeves with sweet bell cuffs; 3 shades of grey wool woven together for perfect colour and texture.

This coat is absolutely adorable and super versatile. Pair it with your favourite LBD, tights, or over jeans. The wool is heavy enough you could get away wearing it until mid-December, easy. And after that, it's still the perfect car coat or shopping coverup.

2008 saw the return of the boyfriend blazer - but forget vintage episodes of Dynasty or 90210, - the boyfriend blazer was totally reinvented for today's woman.

At NYFW, Spring/Summer collections by Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Thakoon welcomed the 2010 version of the 2008 boyfriend blazer.

Welcome back, double-breasted blazers, welcome back.

Less of le dramatique shoulder pads, more width across, and a funkier, longer length are just a few of the ways the blazer has been updated for this coming year.

And whether it features brass buttons or a non-existent collar, I'm loving the style.
