Elie Saab's Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection at Paris Fashion Week was called Urban Elegance. While some considered the collection to be lackluster, I found Saab's Fall 2012 showing to be entirely inspiring. While consistency may not be cool to some, that's the exact element that drew me to the collection. From tailored sheaths and slim-leg pants, to sparkling floor-length gowns with thigh-high slits and flowing high-waisted pants, Elie Saab's Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection is an ideal balance of brains and beauty. It contained pieces practical for almost any office setting, and dresses that would be worthy of awards show wear.
Saab's colour scheme was perfection for my palate, filled with rich emerald greens, earthy dove greys, and classic black and ivory.
Beyond the clothing construction and design, Saab was spot-on when it came to beauty. While I understand that runway makeup is quite often in place to make an artistic statement, I love that Saab kept things realistic with minimalist colour and matte lips. And the hair? Don't even get me started on the uniform long hair and bangs.
